David Bishop-Worn, President, Werribee Giants Baseball Club

David Bishop-Worn is the President of the Werribee Giants Baseball Club.
It’s volunteer-run and offers locals a chance to experience the USA’s ‘national pastime’ in the heart of Werribee. The club was a recipient of the 2024 Manor Lakes Community Fund.
What does Werribee Giants Baseball Club do for the community?
Our club is entirely volunteer-run and gives people in Werribee the opportunity to try a different sport and become part of a supportive, active community.
How have you personally been involved?
I’m a junior coach, a senior player, and have been on the committee for nine years. I’ve served as President for the last six years.
What’s planned for 2025 and 2026?
We recently moved up to the top domestic league in Victoria. We're excited to continue that momentum and plan to purchase more equipment to support our growing women’s and junior teams.
2025 highlights so far? Two of our juniors were selected for the Victorian Under-16 team, and one was chosen to represent Australia in a tournament in Japan this August.
How was the 2024 Manor Lakes Community Fund grant used? We purchased a new pitching machine for training, which has significantly helped our coaches and players improve their skills.
Baseball is a great social sport—perfect for anyone to come and watch or give it a go!
