For dog owners in Manor Lakes, there’s good reason to enjoy morning walks with your pooch.

Michael, a local resident whose family recently brought home Max, a Bichon‑Frise-cross pup, said the Manor Lakes Boulevard park has become part of their walking routine.

“We decided on the breed cause one of my children is autistic. So, I did some research and this breed in particular, bichon frise, are very good with autistic kids,” Michael said.

The fenced dog park is just up the road from his home near Manor Lakes Central, a short drive away.

“My mum’s here all the time with him. But mums away today, so I’m looking after Max.”

“Around 8:30 AM, there’s two or three ladies that come here with their doggies … they all have a play together.”

The Manor Lakes Boulevard Dog Park opened in 2024. It features a grassy, fenced-off area with multiple double‑entry gates, seating, a water tap and bowl, and a small agility course — ideal for active pups and social dogs.

“This is probably the best free facility that Manor Lakes has to offer, and the playground.

“We love living in Manor Lakes. We’ve only had the dog for four weeks but he’s interacted with the other doggies.”

The surrounding park has a new children’s playground, walking paths, and picnic‑style shelters, making it a family-friendly destination where both kids and pets can enjoy plenty of space.

Plans are now underway for a second off‑leash zone at Hindmarsh Drive Reserve, within Manor Lakes Linear Park.

Community feedback on a draft design closed on 1 December 2025. Suggestions included fenced lawns, double gates, agility equipment, seating, a drinking fountain, dog‑bag dispensers, landscaping and shade trees.

Construction is due to commence in February 2026.
